Julia Zapadka, LPC

As far back as I can remember I’ve been fascinated with human
behavior. That likely has to do with the fact that I grew up in a
not so functional family. There was so much I didn’t understand
so I have made it my mission to learn as much as possible.
I have been a lifelong student, educator, and counselor. I’m
passionate and dedicated to helping people on their journey. Life
can be hard, and we all need help at some point.

Many of us grew up in “dysfunctional” families and I can help deal
with the fallout that creates. I want people to know they don’t
have to go through it alone. I’m honored to be part of that
process.

I believe relationships make life special and meaningful. I’m
committed to working with families and couples to find their way
through challenging situations.

I earned my Master’s degree in Human Development and
Psychological Counseling from Appalachian State University,
(Boone, North Carolina) Thereafter, I spent 8 years as a
counselor at the University of Missouri S & T (Rolla, Missouri)
where I worked with students, faculty, and staff providing
individual, group, and couples counseling. I also spent many hours
presenting psychoeducational programs to campus groups.
A college teaching position brought me to Eastern Idaho in 2002. I
taught psychology and sociology classes for 16 years in combination
with some private practice on the side.

I’m experienced in working with a wide range of concerns including:
-marriage/family -depression/anxiety

-relationships -sexual abuse
-stress management -personality disorders
-self-esteem -coping with health issues
-CPTSD (complex post-traumatic stress disorder)
-personal/professional development

I look forward to working with you,

Julia Zapadka M.A., LPC
